I would agree with your ophthalmologist. What people need to keep in mind is that they structure of the eye generally changes with age. Surgery is not going to stop those changes. It is like getting a face lift. You might tighten up the tissues temporarily, but the skin is still going to continue stretching and sagging. The only thing that is going to slow this process is proper nutrition and sufficient stomach acid to ensure the absorption of those nutrients. And many of the same nutrients needed for healthy skin are also needed for healthy structural strength of the eye. In particular silica and vitamin C.
