I am not really a Christian, but I can't help think of the Adan and Eve comparison, where they ate the so called forbidden fruit.
If anything, I'd say us humans have freedom of choice, and we chose to eat meat, processed food because it tastes great, and plenty of other things. We don't even think this matters, and we may just accept things and be unaware we are even making choices. We may even think they are good choices, for example athletes need protein don't they? Well, no actually...
We only become aware of our choices when things go wrong, and that's if we are lucky. The usual story is that someone has been told they have to go on meds for life, and it devastates them. Then they start doing their research. It takes a certain amount of intelligence too, as there is a plethora of misleading research and information out there.
It does seem to be that we have complete freedom of choice in what we eat, but some of us are lucky enough to discover the general truth about nutrition, namely that plants heal us, and processed foods and meat is bad for us.
