 It says 2 min for a gallon, but everywhere else it says 10 min a cup, so I do it 5-10 min per cup and drink it right away.

There are variables such as the strength of the unit, the type of unit (UV, cold corona, hot corona), the temperature of the water, the depth at which the diffuser is set, the bubble size the diffuser produces......  You cannot over do it though.  The water will only saturate under normal circumstances.
