I liked these posts very much IC. I hope Hv comments on them.

I disagree with most of what is being said, but i don't want to get caught up in a long drawn out debate. But I will address some of the comments you are posting about here.

I like the saying "Science doesn't advance until old scientists die off". They're a stubborn lot.

Science is advancing all the time. To advance though requires evidence. New ideas are most often met with resistance because they lack the evidence. Scientific process starts with a hypothesis. Then this hypothesis is tested over and over to prove or disprove it in to a theory. When it was first proposed that vitamin D was effective against cancer it was met with some skepticism. But look at all the studies backing this up now. All of this occurred in a very short time. And it was not from old scientists dying off, it was because there was a great deal of research being performed proving this new idea.

Sometimes though the advancement of science is inhibited though for financial reasons. We see this all the time with cancer cures. And one of the best examples was the discovery that Helicobacter pylori caused somach ulcers. I had read about this link well over a decade before this link was made widely known to the public. The evidence was there, but the drug companies needed to stall to get their drug treatments ready. So the discoverer of the link was continually attacked, called a quack, they tried to get his research grants pulled and tried to get him blacklisted from the research community. During this entire time the drug companies were developing and seeking FDA approval for antibiotic therapy for H. pylori, which takes about 12 years. The medical community finally admitted to link between H. pylori and ulcers was real and the following year the drug companies their 12 years of testing and the FDA gave its approval to the antibiotic therapy H. pylori.

Science does not advance through the Moreless Method, which consists of make it up as you go then attack all who question you to force compliance. If someone expects to be taken seriously they need to back up their ideas with evidence, evidence, evidence.

They thought DNA was written in stone, but it's flexible and changeable. How much more do we have wrong?

I don't recall ever hearing that DNA is written in stone. DNA is constantly changing from degradation of the telomeres and through slight mutations.  If you saw my pictures of when I was younger you would not knwo they were of me. My eye color was extremely dark brown, now they are hazel. My hair used to be extremely wavy, now it is extremely wavy. I used to have very prominent cheek bones from my Cherokee blood, but the cheek bones are no longer prominent.  It is like the Cherokee genes subsided and the Apache genes started to dominate. These are all genetic traits, so the genes would had to have changed in order for these changes to occur.

Some changes also occur from infection. Viral cancers for example occur when the viruses insert their genetic material in to our own genes altering the morphology of the cell. How many non-cancerous viruses do the same thing to our cells? And radiation is known to break strands of genetic material leading to mutations in cells. In most cases these cells are seen as foreign and destroyed. But sometimes these cells find ways to survive in the body such as cancer cells using HCG coatings to shield themselves from the immune system.

It's proof to me that it's "all in our heads" when you hear about multiple personalities having different physiology's and you see centenarians celebrating with vodka and cigarettes.

Multiple personalities though does not occur from immediate changes in genetics though. It is more akin to placebo effect. For example we hear about a person with multiple personalities where one personality has to wear glasses and the other does not. This can simply be from the fact that the contraction or relaxation of the muscles around the eye alters the vision. So the body adapts to what it believes it is supposed to be like, but the DNA is not being changes in the process, it is just an alteration of simple physiology.

Why do we get sick?

Again their are numerous causes of disease. But a person with a hereditary disorder is not going to suddenly not have this disorder because they eat a lot of nutritious food.
