Our moods are in indicator of whats going on inside of us. I now live a life where I am always in a good mood because hey, who doesn't want that? I have developed a 2 minute exercise that will change your mood from whatever it is when you start to a positive, happy feeling full of optimism and excitement. Here is what you do. Take every situation in your life right now, even your day and look at all of the fine components. You see the negative parts because that is the way we are programmed because the negative affects us, it affects our everyday motion of living but the idea here is to understand the negative but not focus on it. For 2 minutes, take everything in your existence and pick out the positive in all of it. Start from your day and work your way to your week, month, so on. These can be the smallest things in life that mean so much when you give your attention to them. The weekend is coming up! You can go to sleep whenever you want to Friday night, you can wake up whenever you want to Saturday morning and if you want to, you can lay down and watch movies all weekend with no worries of obligations. Someone that doesn't normally say anything to you smiled and said hi today. You have a special plan on Sunday to go visit with family and you absolutely can't wait because you know it's going to be a great time for catching up and feeling the warmth of loved ones. You get the point. Even the things that bring you down in your life, seek out the positive in those and recite them to yourself. It's like your pumping yourself up for something and as a result, it programs into your brain the feeling of excitement. You will look forward to this thing and it will help to maintain a positive attitude throughout your day. If you do this 10 times a day, think of how many things you will have to look forward to! You can choose to say these things to yourself in your head or out loud. I would suggest doing it out loud because what that does is it gives you the chance to be uninterrupted. Your brain can't wander into that world of negativity trying to find and focus on the bad in things. The good that you point out keeps making itself present because you are going from one thing to the next very quickly without giving any negativity the chance to counteract what you are saying. Do this for 2 minutes, everyday, however many times per day you need to and you will begin to notice significant changes. For one, you are iterating and reiterating to your brain that there are positive things in every situation in your life. You are planting seeds in there that will grow and as a result, your minutes, your hours, your days are better and more positive. Your brain will remember these things and before you know it, you will automatically start seeking the positive in everything and dismissing the negative. Do this for 2 weeks everyday and you will be amazed at the results. Good Luck!
