Before Newport found the effectiveness of Triphala (with natural Vitamin C, Amla in it), Pharma grade ascorbic acid is what I was using for the Lead (4x a day).
This is a study on Vitamin C in factory workers exposed to Lead:

Also, Cutler says it can be hard to tell if it's copper toxicity or mercury toxicity, but there are things we can be doing for biounavailable copper now too. Molybdenum deals with copper, and it also is needed by the liver sulfation pathway (which mercury breaks), to convert sulfites to sulfates. The other benefit of molybdenum, is it helps get rid of the toxins coming off of candida (acetaldehyde). Lots of info on the Cutler forum, but the book has helped me learn important, key, puzzle pieces. I would highly recommend it (and I haven't started chelating yet either, but I'm glad to have a better understanding prior to starting)
Here's an example of a conversation he had on Onibasu, concerning detoxing copper and supplements..these same supplements are what I feel has helped my liver finally not be clogging up all the time. It's a vicious cycle, because copper not being eliminated because of stagnant bile (and the reason for the phos-choline, and ox-bile), will cause further liver dysfunction, and bile to ball up--so copper isn't eliminated.
