I do love Christmas, but I can also tell you you're not alone. I have a friend whose brother died in December. My friend was only 25 when I met him; I think his brother died when he was about 21. For many years, the holiday season and most of winter was a time of melancholy where he would withdraw socially. It was a hard time of Depression for him.

I've also known what it's been like not to be around family and Christmas was just like an empty Saturday. My husband says it's hard to be deployed on Christmas. Maybe it's a good time to volunteer at a shelter or something... or if you're not up for that type of thing, at least you know other people are right there with you.
