I have just recovered from same symptoms you are describing in your post and even worse symptoms like diarrhoea for about 4 months everytime I had a panick attack, had lost 15kgs in the process was not hungry at all, my weight plumetted so bad that I had to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy done which revealed a healthy digestive system, it was all due being in a constant state of "fight and flight response" which exhausts the adrenals to a point where you feel dizzy, tired almost passing out. What you describe the heart pounding, electrical jolt in the pit of the stomach, jittery and nervous is what is classified as a panick attack. I thought I was going to die everytime these sensations came, I was so debilitated and unable to have a normal life and thinking that I would never be able to feel normal again, I was put on antidepressants (which I didn't take) I don't believe in taking drugs since they are so addictive and do not address the cause of the problem, although in my most desperate times when I couldn't handle it anymore I took a drug called xanax (alprazolam), this drug did calm me down and made me sleep but at the same time made me depressed. Anyway I decided I had to find a way to get better as I become incapacitated to do anything I couldn't even get out of my house I had fear of everything and felt like crap all the time even at home with panick attacks happening everyday and they hit me at anytime. During this time I did EFT (emotinal freedom technique) which I found on the internet, there are lots of youtube clips that help you learn it, there is also free to download instructions on how it works, this helped a little bit not really a cure but quite useful. I started exercising in the middle of the attacks and this helped get over them quickly, I am still exercising regularly it helps a lot. I tried bach flowers which did not help, supplements like magnesium, omega 3 and the rest, I am a student of natural medicine so I experimented with lots of supplements and herbal remedies but nothing helped, I was meditating many times per day which helped to calm me down and be able to get some sleep at nights, I read a little book called "power over panick" by Bronwin Fox which helped me to understand what was going on and I began to understand my physical symptoms but my big break came after I started reading a book called "The power of now" by Eckhart Tolle, I began reading it over the net first 56 pages are on line. My symptoms began to change I understood I had control over what I was feeling and although it is difficult to master what he teaches in this book just by merely understanding what is going on and being aware of how much in control a person is in this situation makes a big difference, everything began to shift, then I bought the book and wow it is a powerful book, I haven't even finished reading it I feel so well I am taking my time reading it. Here I am not yet 100% but almost there, I can smile again and eat and my digestive system is back to normal, I am able to withstand stress whithout having any horrible symtoms I feel more empowered and almost ready to return to work and to normal living. I am still meditating almost everyday, I watch lots of clips on youtube to help me look at life differently, Louise Hay has a series of clips called "how to heal your life" which are very helpful, all of these things have been my tools for recovery. I hope this helps. All the very best to you I know what you are going through it is horrible, but there is a light at the end of the tunel, you will get there.
