Mike, my husband was diagnosed with hemochrometosis, a genetic disorder found in folks from northern european descent. He is Scots. This means his iron level was dangerously high and the treatment is blood draws. Every other week for several months. The count came down.

His iron was too high to save the blood but if you are not too high you could give at your local blood donation center - they check your blood before they take it.

High levels are dangerous, causing diabetes, etc.
