I have found I can drink water and even a little apple juice right up to the second dose of Epsom Salts and have even better flushes than when I tried the no liquids after 2. I do not drink anything after the second dose of ES because the stomach needs to be empty when you drink the oil and juice mixture. Water in the stomach can trigger nausea and vomiting.
Never drink caffeinated drinks or dairy based drinks on the day you flush, but plenty of water and juices are needed to make sure you will not become overly dehydrated during the Epsom Salt induced bowel flush. Having plenty of fluid in your system actually makes the bowel flush more successful because magnesium based laxatives work by drawing water into the bowels liquefying waste and flushing it out.
After a few flushes you will be able to determine what small adjustments you can make to have the flush work best for you. As long as you keep to the basic elements and timing, everything will work out fine. I am a veteran of over forty flushes, most have been done using the basic Hulda Clark protocol, but I have finessed it to the point where it works better for me. You will eventually be able to do the same to meet your needs.
