2 schools of thought when it comes to cortisol supplementation from any source, may it be glandulars, cortex extract, HC, isocort. 1, if you take outside sources of cortisol, your adrenals are suppressed and they will not work as efficient later. 2, you need to rest your adrenals and take outside sources of cortisol so they can rest.
I am a firm believer in #2 after experiences of various treatments myself. I refuse to take anything other than natural and even a cortex extract i waited 3 months to try. but depending on the stage of your adrenal fatigue, it may help you and may be necessary. glands like muscles need to be worked but they also need to be rested when fatigued or they burn out and atrophy ANYWAY. Body builders know this and know that overtraining is counterproductive to anabolic goals. Overtraining leads to burn out and it leads to fatigue > loss of strength and over time, atrophy. Much like the human body as a whole, glands needs to eat, rest, exercise. Providing herbs, nutritional support such as vitamin c and b5 does not replace rest. It is fuel. When a mule is hammered from working, giving it more food and water isn't going to help its fatigue. Rest and sleep is ultimately the primary factor in its recovery. But that's not to say that rest is the only thing needed. They all go together. People who are on cortisol or HC need to provide their body with nutrients, vitamins and minerals that are needed and need to remove the toxins. People on vitamin c and b5 and natural regiments to AF may need to use cortisol to give their adrenals a rest. The dosing or the manner in which it is done is dependent on the person's situation.
