I am trying to understand...I know lyme and lupus are not the same. But when you said that taking Hubbart's dose of niacin would kill your liver if you have lyme...why? I saw this for lupus on earthclinic, and my husband has been tenatively diagnosed with lupus. Why does Ted say only Nicotinic acid? I am trying to keep his liver and kidneys clean. I don't know if he has lyme. I don't want to kill his liver. He was taking a b complex, but when I saw it had niacinimide, I stopped giving it to him. I ordered some nicotinic acid and was planning to give him that. High cholesterol runs in his family. He had his checked about 8 years ago and it was high. I know it could be different now, but probably not. Maybe I need to read more about lyme. It is so hard, there is so much to read and I do not have time. (3 kids, one is 8 mo old, plus my husband doesn't feel well most of the time)

Also, take protein supplements, and vitamin B complex, especially Niacin - ONLY IN THE FORM OF NICOTINIC ACID. Do not take niacinamide. My theory is while both nicotinic acid and niacinamide (nicotinamide) are a form of vitamin B3, they each play a very different role in human metabolism. Vitamin B is related to DNA and RNA synthesis. Take an extra supplement in the grams (1.5-2 grams) only for vitamin B1 and vitamin B3 (about 250-500 mg). Others that you have to look for is folic acid, and getting yourself a vitamin B12 injection or getting a vitamin B12 under your tongue.
