Interestingly,
In one of those threads (from 20+ months ago), "the Ronin" says that his little sister and wife both were having some kind of lip chapping, and he seriously wondered if it was contagious.
Then, in a thread about 11 months ago, he said that his wife didn't catch this from him. So it looks like there was a spate of coincidental lip dryness of those he was close to, which didn't turn into cheilosis for them.
"The Ronin" is still around yet today, and he's been on here at least 3 years. I'm sure he's seen a lot of ideas and treatments come and go in that time, but looks like none have worked for him.
That is the saddest thing to me, that this condition seems to be so resistant to treatment, when it *appears* to be so easy to resolve.
