Uny's Natural Healing forum is closed to new posts temporarily, but it looks like if someone cross-posts, the post shows up on Uny's forum. When there's a will, there's a way. :)
When Natural Hygienists work with clients/patients, they always start with a juice fast and an herbal detoxification process known as "cleansing." This technique is beautifully represented by Dr. Richard Schulze 's Incurables Program, outlined in his out-of-print book and video series, "Save Your Life" (available through Uny's Herbal Apothecary in the media section- link at the top of the page). The juice fast is supposed to last at least two weeks, a month is better, and I've seen a few entries from Dr. Schulze stating that some of his clients stayed on the juice fast for 90 days to five months.
There hasn't been much out there about what to eat once the fast has ended. There certainly are a lot of raw food chefs and cookbooks showing up lately, which is fantastic, but it's only been very recently that I've found fitness experts who are teaching raw vegans when to eat, what to eat for nutritional balance, and how to build muscle on a raw vegan diet. When you see raw foodies on Youtube, most of them are skinny. It looks like they have lost some muscle mass. Since I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy several years ago, this aspect of "going raw" really concerned me.
Within the past month or so, I have run across a few people who are extremely fit 100% raw vegans. Some do it with supplements such as Sun Warrior Protein Powder and various minerals and vitamin combinations, and some do it exclusively with plant foods: fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds.
I'd like to introduce a 100% raw vegan fitness instructor who owns a wellness center on Long Island, in New York City. His name is Chris Califano. I find his message and testimony very encouraging, since I can't bust a gut at Gold's for hours at a time every day.
Ladies, I'm sorry, but Chris leaves his shirt on in the video. lol But he does have a cute accent.

Much love to all,
