What I see as part of the problem is that you looked at his phone without his permission. Or does he allow you to look at it? Has he said in the past, something like, "You can look at my phone anytime you want."? If not, then you were snooping. So it makes it tough to confront him.

However, now that you know, it seems that you will never fully trust him again. If you continue the relationship, you will now always be tempted to snoop.

IMO, it's best to put an end to the relationship now that the cat is out of the bag...
