Bathrooms are for cleansing a cleaning process as you menationed. But the water( feelings) was stagnated ( not moving and too much)and was going to break the floor (foundations)
If this is related with quit smoking. I think that you need to get rid of those stagnated emotions that can break your foundation, so you can make the quit asmoking process with solid foundations.

Just my sense of it.
