MHS --- Thank you for responding. I'm enjoying the back and forth we are having here.

I never seriously started meditating until about 4 years ago. A former neighbor of mine and I befriended each other. She is intuitive and encouraged me to try meditation and was very good at helping me decipher what I was hearing. Unfortunately, these days she has become very bad about keeping in touch---despite my best efforts.

I know I'm not going about meditating the proper way. No doubt, lying in bed when I can't sleep and meditating then isn't the best way. However, I've had the best experiences with that way.

As I said, sometimes I just fall asleep LOL. I don't meditate at frequent intervals. Part of the reason is that my husband has now worked at home for the past year and a half. So finding a time when it is quiet without anything to distract me doesn't occur as frequently as when he worked outside the home.

Mostly I quiet and clear my mind and leave myself open to what may appear---so to speak. My problem is that often when I hear or see something, I have trouble keeping the train of thought because, at some point, it dawns on me just what I'm experiencing and I ended up breaking the chain. I must work to get past that.

As for the voices that have contacted me. Over the past 4 years, they have always been different --- sometimes male, sometimes female. A couple of years ago, I went to a group reading by a medium and she told us that such voices are of deceased loved ones and may not sound like them. However, I'm also aware that they could also be spirit guides or my guardian angel. What's frustrating to me is that oftentimes only a word or two comes through---arrrgh! I've even prayed on this and asked whomever it was to try again and thanked them for trying. I never get anything back.

As for the man I've heard recently, his is the only voice that has been constant. The experience I wrote about that I had recently where he woke me up when I nodded off, the only words I could make out (after I calmed down) were "Tommorow is really important". Well...tomorrow came and went for me and it was uneventful. That's why I wonder just who he is. However, my intuitive friend told me that tommorow for those in the spirit world means something entirely different than it does for us Earthbound mortals. Interestingly enough, after posting here and reading your posts and Iolite's, I've been feeling very uplifted.

Do you recommend when I hear a voice, asking out loud who they are or do you think I should just mentally (silently) ask? Thank you for the suggestion that I ask them to give me a sign. Honestly, that never occured to me!

I think you were fortunate to find a medium who gives classes. The local medium whose group session I attended doesn't give classes --- only group and individual readings. I've been toying with making a private appointment with her.

As for the deceased --- my mother died 10 years ago. We didn't have a good relationship as she was an alcoholic who was verbally and emotionally abusive. Yet since she's passed I've talked out loud to her and expressed my feelings and asked her to help her family. One time while I was on the computer, not thinking of her, I clearly heard her call my name. Other times, electronics in the house will behave strangely. The medium told us that is the work of the deceased.

Oh...You may find this helpful --- About 3 years ago, I was in Barnes and Noble and came across "Saints and Angels Oracle Cards". It's a deck of 44 cards and a guidebook on how to interpret the cards. My intuitive friend, at first, used them more than I did. Recently, I followed the directions and imprinted them back to me. They're beautiful cards and sometimes the messages on them move me to tears. Basically, they are a way to get in touch with angels and guides.
