Hello Dandalion,

When using a topical solution you need to pay attention to the PH of the solution. A problem with the Miracle-Mineral-Supplement protocol is that the solution ends up very acid with a PH in the 2 - 3 range. This will irritate sensitive skin.

Acne responds well to topical applications of chlorine dioxide solutions. Unfortunately, the Miracle-Mineral-Supplement protocol also has chlorous acid in it. In order to make a chlorine dioxide solution, you need to use a different activator.

You may want to try mixing a solution made from 2 ml of 5% sodium chlorite that is activated with 2 ml of 6% HCl. Add enough water to make a total solution of 500 ml. Next add 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and mix thoroughly.

This solution is used by first washing the face as you normally would, then you can saturate a cotton ball with the chlorine dioxide solution and using the cotton ball to rinse the face with the solution. Take care to keep the solution out of the eyes, and don't breathe the fumes. Since this solution is PH balanced, you can just let it air dry. This will give the chlorine dioxide some contact time for it to do its work.

If you keep this solution out of light, it should last for 2 - 3 weeks.

Tom
