You are a m*o*o*n and obviously a little undereducated in things that can go wrong with birth control/hormones. Hormones affect every part of the body and can cause all kinds of symptoms. I was fortunate enough to find a provider who had a connective tissue disease from her birth control years ago. Thankfully she understood and didn't write me off like all the previous doctors I went to did. You are right in saying that it's only a small fraction of the people that experience problems. But for this small fraction it can be life changing. I'm sure that sometime in your life you will have something happen to you where you realize that the body is a very complicated machine and when you change one thing it can have a domino affect on other things. Believe me, I never would have thought my body could break down in the way that it did. I have a hard time believing that the Mirena had nothing to do with my being diagnosed with carpal tunnel(numbness/tingling). I had no reason to have it as I was not even working at the time. Yet I was told that's what it was and now that the Mirena has been out for a year I have not had any more problems with that. Only the individual person knows how they are feeling. Great for you that you haven't experienced this. I have friends that have the Mirena and haven't had any problems. But, this doesn't mean that my problems aren't happening. I don't think you'll get many people agreeing with you on this site. You might want to take up another cause.
