Asthma and infection are too separate issues. Asthma is actually a form of inflammatory allergy, so you would work on your adrenals for this. Vitamin C, pantothenic acid and adaptogenic herbs such as jiaogulan, schisandra berry and licorice are good choices. Watercress and nettle leaf are also great for the adrenals and are also antihistamines.
Magnesium is also great for asthma as it helps to relax the bronchioles. Magnesium malate or citrate should be used at a recommended dose of 300mg 2 to 3 times daily. It should not be taken with calcium as calcium is a muscle contractor. And you should also avoid magnesium oxide since this form is poorly absorbed and it chemically burns the tissues.
If there is an infection then you would likely be coughing up phlegm as well. Greenish-yellow can indicate pneumonia, while blackish-brown can indicate bronchitis. Have you been coughing anything up?
