I would probably be using three or four times that amount of BF&C - also, I don't know how far up you're talking about - but, if it's within reach, I would use a Q-tip to apply the BF&C directly to the cartilage. When you are not doing the fomentation, I would be applying BF&C oil topically as often as possible throughout the day. You may also want to add some Comfrey tea to your regime, as the BF&C you are taking orally no longer contains Comfrey. Good Luck!
