I have been hearing this vicious rumour now for quite a while and have been looking for proof that it leaches minerals.

I drink distilled water from my countertop distiller every day so if anyone could say why "it doesn't leach minerals" then I would appreciate it.

Also, if distilled water is acidic ... could you make it alkaline by dissolving minerals into it. Is it strictly the pH balance that leaches the minerals or it is due to some other property of distilled water?
