I'm sure that many of the products and treatment protocols suggested on here have their place in treating certain medical conditions. But without an actual diagnosis, all these herbs, diets, and flushes are just a guessing game.
As well, in some cases (such as myself) none of these remedies have worked...even with extreme protocols.
And no matter how good a doctor you may have, if they're using conventional stool testing methods, there are simply too many unaccounted for and inconsistant variables with such tests in being able to confirm (or rule out) any of these "bugs". And in the process you only ruin your credibility with the doctors.
Yes, there are probably a few qualified physicians out there that are able to narrow down a possible diagnosis by your symptoms. But then again, how are you going to know whether they are correct or just playing the guessing game themselves? For instance, there are countless types of infections and medical conditions where one of the symptoms is a skin rash. Like searching for a needle in hay stack!
So rather than playing the guessing game or rolling the dice by trapesing across the country looking for answers, there ARE a few labs that specialize in diagnosising such creatures using the lastest scientific technology. Metametrix is one (which I am presently waiting for lab results). There has been a few others labs mentioned on here in recent postings as well.
One method of finding such labs is by simply doing a web search with whatever you suspect the issue is. Ex: Candida Albicans Antigen Antibody Test. Systemic Candida is very hard to diagnose. But this is a serological test offered by a lab called Focus Diagnostics out of Utah that also specialize in such lab tests. This is just one example of a lab that will take the mystery out of what's ailing you. Do some research on the computer to find out the latest testing methods and proper the terminology to use in your web searches.
As far as which doctor to go to in ordering tests from such labs, although ND's are somewhat restricted in some areas of medicine, I have found that they are more approachable and open to such ideas than are MD's.
In my case, since I am certain that I am going to need surgery to remove the large Lumbricoid Roundworms that are in my intestines, once I hopefully get my confirmed diagnosis from Metametrix through my ND, I will then go directly to the hospital (not another MD's Clinic) and try to kick some asses in gear!
