Hi,

First of all, thank you. Your warnings have not fallen on deaf ears here. I only wish I had been paying attention sooner, but I have had a couple days anyway.

I have more to do tomorrow (sunday)...but at least I know what I need to do.

Regarding a water filter...what kind of water filter are you thinking of? I know they make these pump kind that backpackers carry, but they have filters that need replaced every so many gallons. I'm thinking I need to come up with a non-electric distiller, right? I have found ideas of how to make a solar distiller online in a couple spots, like this one: http://www.thefarm.org/charities/i4at/surv/sstill.htm

But this is not very portable for if we need to grab our stuff and get out of dodge. I've also found some ideas for putting one together out of a pressure cooker and some tubing that goes through a cooling system, and you would put the pressure cooker over a fire or stovetop. I could build this also.

I'm just wondering if there is a more portable, pre-assembled type of thing I can just go out and buy while my cash is still worth something. Can you point me in a direction?
