I also regularly used to get rejected to give blood because of low iron. Sometimes I took supplements but eating a lot of chard was the thing that helped the most.
I don't know what my iron levels are because I haven't tried to give blood in a couple of years. I too am post-menopausal and don't take any iron supplements now.
You've reminded me that maybe this is something I should have checked as I've been extremely tired lately.
