Ole Doc Christopher put it very succinctly. Any absess in the mouth get the offending tooth pulled. I haven't seen very much success getting the teeth back once they're infected.

For infections a strong saline solution - good ole salt. Colloidal silver and then there's hydrogen peroxide. That'll take care of any germs in the area but as far as rebuilding the teeth(?) I'm sure it can be done but it's too late for me and I don't have that information.

Sounds like what you're doing is correct though.
