I'm glad you found this site. It was eye opening for me as well. I have had my Mirena out for almost 3 months, I think. It does take time to get back to your normal self. I had the IUD in for 8 months and I am about 85% normal now. I have actually noticed several new side effects since it was removed, but they don't seem to last very long before they are gone again. The emotional stuff was the worst for me and that has gotten so much better. I still get crazy mad at the dumbest things, but it is better then before.

I also breastfed while having it in. I didn't realize it at the time that it was the Mirena's fault, but immediately after having it inserted I noticed my production decreased immensely. My daughter is now 15 months and seems normal so I don't think the hormones have affected her at all, thank goodness.
