Place it on your abdomen, this will help elimination.
Use your intuition or 'gut' instinct to guide you as to how long to keep it there. (1/2 hr. up to 3 hrs. Edgar Cayce set no limit I think). My favourite brand of castor oil is "The Palma Christi Castor Oil".

Keep in mind that everyone is going through enormous change on the planet right now. Change is, BAR-NONE, the most stressful thing a human being can face. Breathe deeply and write anything that comes to mind from your feeling centre (emotions) while you're lying (half-sittting) with your pack. This helps get it out.

Also, if you have paint, then paint! Not a pretty picture, but paint from your anxiety - paint 'anxiety' then paint the next feeling that surface, you'll uncover alot. I do this kind of stuff and it is unbelievably therapeutic. I clear small issues and big issues this way (of course you need to tell your ego not to interfere, this is not judgement time.)
