Who knows what it did..Lobelia is pretty strong stuff...I could have just been coughing as a reaction and it cleared
something from my lungs or airways.

I actually have included it (along with a gazilion other herbs) in a tincture concoction I use in a variety of ways - one being in a nebulizer. If you want a good cough...
