Some Possiblities::
> brain fog can be caused by immune reactions, if you google hippocampus and cytokines or hippocampus and immune you will see that immune reactions will attack the hippocampus (and probably other parts of the brain). The hippocampus is responsible for memory. Many Chronic Fatigue patients complain of this, in which chronic fatigue is due to immune reactions (pathogens).
> Heavy metals can be causing this problem. The best thing to do is to do a 'heavy metal challenge' . Doctors Data has this test and they could direct you to doctor that can perform the test. The basics of this test involve giving you a shot of a chelating agent and measuring heavy metals in your urine within a short time of the chelator.
Go to Naturopath4you.com and click on 'silver fillings' link for good info.
> Could be an issue with a nutrient:
Look at Choline and other b vitamins. B12 & folic acid.
Mineral deficiency could cause these problems, the best test for this is traceelements.com
Inadequate protein (amino acids) could have this effect, you can test for serum levels of amino acids, see Metametrix Labs.
Antioxidants will have a positive effect.
Essential fatty acids play an important role - see Dr. Patricia Kane's research.
Fluoride can impact as well. Iodine is the only known chelator of fluoride.
Try a product called MindCare from Himalaya.
