I've been using NOW brand Silica complex and it's made my nails a lot better, thats the only thing noticeable anyway.
Only horsetail extract in it for silica. plus some calcium zinc manganese boron and bentonite
No I don't touch the cheap stuff in the shops here either or the very cheap online sources. I tried some cheap capsules once and they had a very nasty chemical smell so I threw them out
