My husband's blood Sugar level was up to 157 and he had already started the Protein Power Diet. In two weeks his blood Sugar level was down to 112. The doctor was amazed and so far he has lost 33 lbs in three months. He doesn't adhere strictly to the diet and does not excerise due to his ankles. Cutting carbs will get your blood Sugar level under control in a hurry. You are right, the food pyramid is crazy. It should be reversed.
