Right, and to me the proof is in the pudding, so far anyway. I have a ways to go, but my enlarged and nodular thyroid shrunk in size (still nodular) after 4 months on just 25mg of Lugol's most days and 1/2 grain of Naturethroid, a very tiny amount of hormone. I still have the FBD, but I have not been on the higher dose of Lugol's that long, and I think my overall hormone imbalance is the main culprit. I'm actually shifting my focus to a more cleansing protocol (again), but I do plan to stay on the iodine. It's been discussed in other forums that supplementing with Iodine while having clogged systems of elimination can make it a lot more uncomfortable, and that makes sense to me. I also suspect most of us are more clogged than we think we are.

I'll agree that some things people try may actually be too much for the body to handle or actually poisonous (like I'm suspicious of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement ), and ideally we'd get all our nutrients including Iodine as much as we need from food, but times have changed - toxic planet, depleted soils, chemicals everywhere, plastic in our cells. It's a whole new ballgame. Eating a little kelp a few times a week may not be enough anymore.

I'm working directly with Dr. Brownstein, he's done his homework and has enough success stories under his belt that I feel comfortable following his protocol. As an M.D., he would have a lot to lose if recommending something widely (and probably mistakenly) accepted as toxic in these doses. Doctors don't usually take those kinds of risks for lawsuits and the like.

I think this debate forum is primarily for people who have made up their mind already, it's probably useless to argue. If I was a Curezone newbie, though, I'd appreciate seeing both sides of the coin so I could make up my own mind. No judgments either way, because I may decide in 3 years I've been wrong about all of this, but right now I don't think so, since improvements to me usually indicate I'm on the right track.
