Good idea. I got some Wyman's wild blueberies a week or so ago - they are good and supposed to be much better than commercial, and probably higher Brix.
the ones I made the *ice cream* with were frozen, probably not top quality berries.
For the last several years here I've eaten *tons* of wild berries in the Summer. They grow wild all over the Southeast. I'm from NH originally and there's a lot more berries here. I've found berry spots all over town and I usually eat them for breakfast, go eat them early before it gets too hot. I had purple teeth and fingers all Summer, lol.
They've been past for a few weeks now. It started with Black Raspberries, then Red "", then blackberries. I probably ate 20 quarts or more each Summer. Many days I ate until I couldn't stand to eat any more. They are probably pretty high Brix. Next Summer I'll take my refractometer with me and test them.
Gotta be careful though, they are like weeds here and people tend to spray stuff to kill it back, like around poles, etc.
If I'd been more ambitious I would have got more and frozen some. :)
