Below is a question from a different thread that I want to bring up a point.  So to make this point I thought  we could play diagnose the fictitious patient.  So I gave the background on the patient below and I would like to see what diagnosis people come up with and why.  I will explain the reasoning in a day or two when everyone has a chance to answer and I get a chance to fix my refrigerator that went out today.

Do you like blood tests?

Again, some tests are very helpful.  Most though are not and can end up giving someone a false sense of security or scare them needlessly.  Symptoms and history should be the primary focus of doctors.  Let me give everyone an example.

An overweight patient comes in complaining of spinal pain, numbness in the feet, and blurred vision.  Patient has high blood pressure.  The doctor takes blood and finds elevated glucose.  Anyone want to take a guess on his diagnosis and explain why?
