Will, I don't know if this would help at all and I would certainly want you to look into it before you bought this product or used it. There is a product from Standard Process called Antronex. I have just started using it because I believe my liver has not been detoxifying as well as it should and I have high blood pressure.

This product is bought at a chiropractor's office usually. But I wouldn't trust most of them to really know if this product may help you or not. There is a man in Houston, Texas named Stuart White who is the main person who knows all about the Standard Process products. He has been a nutritionist and chiropractor for about 30 years and is very knowledgable.

I have the clinical reference guide for these products and it states:

Antronex: INDICATIONS: Allergies,nasal congestion,
portal hypertension,toxic throid(hypo).

This product contains a special liver extract, which the Japanese named Yakitron. ANTRONEX is rated according to the amount of Yakitron it contains. Yakitron is the blood filtering fraction of the liver, So the product quickens the detoxification of the blood in its flow through the liver. It is a natural anti-histamine, excellent for people who have histamine toxicity, as in cases of asthma and allergies. People who have toxic thyroids are also benefited by ANTRONEX, as it quickens the removal of the excess thyroxin from the blood. If a person has high blood pressure due to a congested liver, ANTRONEX may lower his blood pressure very quickly. One more thing about ANTRONEX, it is only utilized in an acid gastointestinal tract, so you may need to suggest the use of CAL-AMO or ZYPAN along with it.(CAL-AMO and ZYPAN are acidifying products).

I know you stated that your portal hypertension is due to your portal vein being blocked. So I certainly wouldn't want to advise you to use it without thoroughly looking into it. But it is a possiblility. You can google it to see if you can find out any more information about it.
