I am considering beginning the master cleanse. I did this in the past for one week with good results. Since then I have attempted to do it again several times and each time on about the second or third day, my gums would become very sore and start to bleed. Also I noticed some receding on a couple teeth. I've read that the acid in the lemon can cause tooth and gum problems, and was wondering if this is really possible with The Master Cleanse and what can be done to eliminate this. I really would like to do the cleanse for 3-4 weeks, but the last two times I have attempted it, I've stopped out of fear when I saw my gums bleeding. I don't have this problem when I eat regularly, and I didn't have the problem when I did The Master Cleanse a year ago for seven days. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening? I would love some input. FYI, I always drink the lemonade through a straw and I drink a lot of water, too.
Also, I had a question regarding the lax tea. I used Smooth Move the last time that I did the cleanse, and it worked well. But since that time, I have come across some information that made me question whether the tea is a good idea. I read that the laxative teas that contain senna can cause kidney damage, paralysis of the stomach and intestines, and that senna is a toxin and should not even be taken into our systems. Is this true, and if so what is a good alternative while doing this cleanse?
Hope to hear from you, Pepe, and anyone else who might have the answer.
