Ok, honey - this is a toughy (from my side of the matrix). We saw an elder this weekend that's had Parkinson's for a while and he's not in good shape. He's 70 and means a lot to this community. He had such trouble standing up that he looked like a man getting tossed to and fro on a ship in a great storm. I am not exaggerating in any sense. Both Josh and I were bowled over at how much he's deteriorated in the last few years. We're both heartbroken about it. I've mentioned the IP a few times in the last month to those closest to him. I'm confused on how someone who has that little muscle control could do the IP, honestly. He kept muttering, 'can't stay stable'. He was a painter and wants to still paint. Ah- God - it makes me beside myself. He started this great artist's community and now his arms jerk back and forth violently. He literally went swinging feet on either side of himself. Granted, his family said he has good days and bad days and the tremors pulse on different days.
How would he go about doing the IP? If I can talk them into it - it would most likely be a situation where we'd have to find someone to do it for him/with him. His family is busy running the family business so they can eat. Hell - I'd think about staying with them for a month and doing it for him. But - how could someone do an enema or a hot pack/cold pack and similar showers? Some of the physicals confound me. Thanks for helping me get some clarity on this!
