 living in US know but, I am originally from the Aegean region where mastic gum trees grow naturally. we used to chew it like a gum. it is even stickier than a gum. So it sounds weird to see it in a pill. do they dry it and ground to encapsulate? even then, after capsule dissolves wouldn't the dried gum get sticky with gastric juicies and stick somewhere in the digestive track?

Yes, the resin is dried and ground. During the encapsulation they will add flow agents to make encapsulation easier. These flow agents will also help prevent clumping of the resin in the stomach. Same reason I have people mix non-resinous herbs with resinous herbs before ingesting the resinous herb. For example chaparral is quite resinous and will clump in to a "gum ball" when combined with moisture. Combining the chaparral with another herb such as pau d' arco helps to separate the chaparral particles reducing clumping. IN capsules silica powder is often used, and this can also serve this same purpose.
