The scientific research like above mentioned vitamin C study should be read with a little caution. (Any other single issue study for that matter should be included.)
There is vast number of deficiencies, vitamin and mineral deficiencies which will affect the brain functions and development especially at early life.
While concentrating to study the effect of vitamin C deficiency, it may simultaneously mask other parallel deficiencies with similar symptoms giving questionable results.
My comment should not be seen as criticism for scientific researches in general.
I have always maintained the opinion that wide-spectrum food intake gives a better result for body’s nutrition. I didn’t make any comment on the issue of saturated fat discussion, because my opinion is and always has been to eat some meat as well as plant based food ingredients in order to obtain correct and balanced vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
Our body will take care of expelling unwanted items, providing that we DO NOT OVEREAT.
Amino acid balance also plays important role in our wellbeing, physically and mentally!
