Hi Mamacat,

Well, it is a more question of excess for a healthy person, than which sugar. Never the less, the cane and beat supermarket sugars are the ones, which are the most commonly and easily abused.

I think that I'd rather tell you in a nutshell what sugars do in general in your body, be it glucose, sacharose, fructose, whichever.

You eat it, it gets readily digested when a higher sugar and straight into the blood stream when lover sugar. Your insulin shoots up accordingly to control it, insulin triggers a whole slew of other hormones to be injected into your blood stream and it takes a fair time for your blood and glands to re-stabilize.

You can jerk your hormonal balance like this only so many times before one or more of your internal secretion glands start malfunctioning, most commonly the pancreas causing diabetes.

Sugars also burden the blood and feed parasitic fungi in the intestines as well as the blood stream and they feed cancerous cells, which are normally present in the body being constantly created and taken out by the immune system, therefore also overloading the immune system.

IMO, a very moderate and most of all low dose at a time intake of any sugars is not likely to harm a healthy person. After all, we do need some sugars.

It is entirely different with anyone with a chronic ailment though. The above compounds on top of an overburdened system.

Also take into consideration that some sugars are sweeter than others. Using lets say glucose will tempt you to use more than regular refined sugar, because it is less sweet. Also watch out for brown sugars. I have worked on machinery for food industry for a fair bit, and brown sugar means just that it is brown. It is not necessarily unrefined raw sugar. Maple syrup is OK as long as it has been vacuum evaporated. If it is the traditional boiled stuff, it has been boiled for long hours and it is as good as refined. It is totally dead.

So, I would recommend you to find what sugars are contained in what and how much on Google and go from there.

With kind regards, Slavek.
