....two gall bladder polyps. I was there watching the ultrasound and I saw these two small lesions attached to the lower left side of her gall bladder. The doctor who read the ultrasound said that she could possibly have adenomyomatosis. Has anyone had any experience with adenomyomatosis? I had never heard of it so I did an Internet search. I found that this "a" word is one of many causes for gallbladder wall thickening. One web page says that: "it is identified by proliferation of the gallbladder mucosa with diverticular outpouchings known as Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses. Typically cholesterol deposits are seem within the gallbladder wall and cause a comet tail artifact." She does not have this "comet tail". Actually, her gall bladder was clear black on the screen. Nothing else was showing up except these two polyps. I would like to hear any comments from you folks out there that may have had any dealings with this type of polyp.

Also, would a liver/gall bladder flush help such a condition? My daughter is 19 and has Down Syndrome. Getting her to do a flush will be quite a chore. Of course, the doctor wanted to refer her to a surgeon immediately. I asked him why he wanted to take out her gall bladder when she didn't even have any stones? He said it was common procedure! I told him I'd let him know. Don't want surgery, but am wondering if this condition would be more condusive to gall bladder removal since there are no stones to remove with a flush?

Thanks all,

Toastieoat
