my partner went to sleep too, listening to the interview, but then he often does his best learning in his sleep!

I'm serious. A good teacher once told me that the ordinary body-mind confuses input that is genuinely mind-expanding, and thinks that *rest* (from the usual dualistic combativeness of the unredeemed world) equates with sleep.
