Thank you for the suggestion...but that would never work for me.  I would hate waking up in total darkness in the morning..  I can see where it might be necessary if you woked at night and had to try to sleep in the daytime tho.  I had a boyfriend once who did that and it worked for him.  I just have white florescent street lights in the parking lot outside of my apartment...and so I tilt my blinds and sleep on the darker side of the bed...and dream of throwing rocks at those darn lights.
