I wouldn't have taken those 3 links as gospel only a few short years ago either, so thank you for comments InCharge.
I am also very aware that a plant-based-diet is renowned in being able to reverse disease (including chronic diseases).................

...............but I am not a subscriber to the viewpoint that saturated fat is a major cause/contributor of Heart and Cardiovascular diseases, by elevating blood-Cholesterol levels.
Cholesterol as we all know is a vital substance produced by the Liver for (among other purposes) maintaining Brain health. Cholesterol has been made out to be the "villain of the piece": hence the huge rise in the use of cholesterol lowering drugs such as statins.
My own research tells me that people who have the highest levels of cholesterol actually live the longest and which bears no correlation with the incidence of heart-attack and/or strokes.

Despite the hype from medical/scientific research that saturated fat is detrimental to health, the real evidence points in the opposite direction, and as outlined by Uffe Ravnskov MD in my original post.
The crux of the matter (in my view) lies with a deficiency of Ascorbate in the formation of collagen, and where any substance to hand within the body is provided to heal the wear & tear on the arterial walls by the formation of plaque in the absence of sufficient Ascorbate.
The Pauling/Rath unified theory predicts that Lp(a) cholesterol will compensate for low vitamin C. Plaques form out of Lp(a) attracted to the Lysine Binding sites. The plaques serve a purpose: they strengthen collagen starved arteries.
High cholesterol is a red-herring in my view, and of course a huge money-spinner for Big Pharma.
