I'm a Christian,and the bible has all kinds of verses that talk about the words we speak. It says in Proverbs that "Life and death are in the power of the tongue". There are many other verses that say similar things about the words we speak.

When the Israelites were in the wilderness, they complained a lot (negative talk). God put up with it for awhile, giving them more and more blessings-manna in the morning, and quail at night. He gave them water from rocks, etc....they still complained.

Finally, God said "I will do to them as they have spoken!"

We actually put curses on ourselves and others by the words we speak!

I've always been a horribly negative person my whole life. I'm really trying to "cancel out" those negative words I have cursed myself with!

Studies have been proven to show that we can TELL OURSELVES how to feel! For instance, if we say "I'm so tired!" over and over, we will actually BE tired.

I find all this very interesting! Guess there really is something to the "power of positive thinking"
