The people in the area are AGAINST this fluoridisation plant. They don't want it, they've protested against it, but because of our governmental system, it will go ahead anyway, regardless of what the people want. For those that can afford it, RO water filter systems will by selling like hot cakes. The only right of redress we have is to take them to court. People cannot afford to do this, but still many have bankrupted themselves trying, and failing in most cases. The people are not turning a blind eye, or apathetic on this issue, just as we are not apathetic on the issue of climate change, and renewable resources.

It is our constitution that needs to change, and as the law makers are the politicians, that will only happen slowly if ever. I have yet to see a politician in this country that is a true servant of the people. Its all about money and personal power.

Wombat, it is compulsory to vote over here, even if you dissagree with the government position, or find yourself having to vote for the umpteenth time on an issue that should have been done and dusted. I personally have had to vote on this issue 4 times already, and just had a gutfull.
So I got fined for not voting, but it felt good to make that small protest.
