During the weekend in Salt Lake some amazing things happened emotionally and spiritually for me – I found a lot of the answers I was seeking for and I knew I would be leaving for the Philippines again. My husband, who was just about ready to lay down some ultimatums, also had some incredible experiences over the weekend and told me he knew what I was doing was right and he would be supportive of whatever I wanted to do. This came as a great relief and helped to lighten the load for me to move forward as I knew what I was about to embark on was going to require a lot of sacrifice by my whole family.
At the Master Herbalist Seminar, I shared these pictures, told them I was going out to pick her up and do whatever I could, and the thoughts I had on opening an orphanage. On Friday, when I went to the herb store to pick up the supplies I thought I might need in the Philippines, I was surprised to find that several very generous donations had been left for me to help take care of expenses and there was also some frozen breast milk packed in dry ice, left by one of my students who had been pumping all week for her baby at home, but when her husband heard about Kaylee’s need – he told her to pass it along to someone who needed it more than their baby did.
I arrived in Davao on Sunday morning. My son was in Manila on business, so I spent the day with my grand-daughters and picked up some supplies for taking care of the baby. When my son and daughter-in-law arrived home that evening, we left to get the baby. My daughter-in-law told me she was glad it was dark, so I couldn’t see the area we were going into very well – she said it would be too disturbing.
