I know this weed.....except, before your post, I only knew this weed as just another "weed" I frequently find growing kind of like a stubborn ground cover in places like the garden, or perhaps around the corners of stepping stones and such.....and yes, I've experienced first hand, this plant is sort of easy to pull out when it is a young/small clump, but it is diffciult to eradicate it for good. Thanks for letting me add one more formerly-unknown to the growing list of herbs I can identify.

As I go along slowly adding to the repertoire of herbs that I can identify, I now get a kick out of telling people that these things we've been taught most of our lives to know as "weeds" are not really weeds. This of course is a baited statement, to which usually brings the question "uh huh, so, if they are not weeds, what are they?". The reply is, we call them weeds mainly because we otherwise do not know how to identify them one from the next. Then to show off a bit, you can take a stroll around the ege of the yard and point to plants and say "see that there, that's not a weed, that's Plantain".... and see that there, that's not a weed, its Mullein, and that there is Burdock". More often than not, this will bring a response like "wow, that is kind of interesting....so, what is that lovely clump of stuff over there?", and often times I can only say "uhhh, thats a weed" (translation: I dunno....yet, but am gaining slowly. Today Purslane.... who knows what tomorrow may bring?)
