2 years ago I had pretty much all symptoms of Hypo thyroid except the weight gain; low body temp, low energy, low stress tolerance, dry skin etc. in addition to a systemic candida.
Heart symptoms was palpatations and fluttering, especially at night; causing insomnia.
I started the watercure long before Iodine and that helped a lot on the palps / insomnia. I have never seen a low salt diet work well at all; the clue is real salt; you may check out http://www.watercure.com

To drink salty water is not as bad as it sounds; I actually crave it now, especially in the morning.
